Hey there, traveler!

LiveJournal is a great service, but it offers zip in the way of visitor-tracking. Therefore, I have a favor to ask of you: please leave me a comment letting me know who you are, and how you ended up here. No more detail than you're comfortable with, of course. Thanks much.

Thanks! You I probably would have managed to figure out. I'll see if I can keep up the supply of Vile Puns for you...

I chased a link here from writing_sex a. because you seem to have interesting things to say there, and b. because your icon looks painfully familiar and it's eating my brain. Not necessarily the character, but the art style.

Hm- things about me?
I have toes.
I write and draw, pretty much all the time. Or think about it all the time.
I hate the phone and have been accused of being a Luddite for my hatred of cell phones. To which I point to my graphic arts tablet, wireless optical mouse, cable internet connection, and many different im accounts. I just don't like people contacting me when I'm not in the mood for it. Which is the only time the phone rings.
I poke things in grocery stores and talk to the produce. Looking like I need "help" usually keeps the staff at my local safeway from asking 'If I need help with anything?'

Damn. That's probably entirely too much information. Oh well. You asked.

The art is from the sex story paysite Ruthie's Club, and illustrated my story Rivals there. The artist goes by Lady Neko on Ruthie's, but probably uses another name for her non-smut work.

Hold onto your toes. Someday they will prove useful--just you wait and see.

Hello. Stumbled on your journal via someone else raving about it - and it looks very interesting. So I've added you - hope you don't mind.

I'm Jim, 34, in England. And I'm a sick, depraved, menace to society. Or at least that's what my friends tell me.

Mon, Oct. 2nd, 2006 07:12 pm (UTC)

Of course I don't mind. I'm always pleased to have more readers--particularly thoughtful and articulate ones like you. And depraved is a bonus too, of course.

I added you cuz of this wad of awesome. I believe it was metaquoted(?)

Thx for adding me back btw.

I'm Brian, 23, Wisconsinite going to college for a physics degree. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

I still have mixed feelings about the most popular thing in this journal being by another author. Ah,well. I'll just have to keep trying.

Why are we not at the All-Star Sandwich Bar right now?

I came here by way of mycrust. I'm a 35-year-old gay dude, an exile from the West Coast living in a large city in the Deep South.

riceagain: borders

Vinnie Tesla. hm. damn, my laundry will have to wait. Bless dear Anarqueso/JennyShmenny, our lady of all things cheese in SF. I am one of her childhood friends, another survivor of notorious Y-R-E-K-A in Northernmost California @ the Oregon line. Currently, I report from Connecticut, where I just read some fun stuff at storiesonline. In a seemingly un-related (albeit spooky) event, my creepy brother just called from California. I regret I have to take this call, I would much rather answer questions of yours, in detail, if you had any.

She appears to have good taste in friends. What'd you find at SOL?

"who you are, and how you ended up here"

Oh, you know. Primordial Goo. Big Bang. String Theory. Dark Matter. The Force. FunkyHoopTape. Tom Waits. Playa del Fuego. Fisting. Smut.

Including but not limited to, and not necessarily in that order.

Mon, Oct. 2nd, 2006 07:22 pm (UTC)

Suddenly I'm feeling the urge to write some Tom Waits Playa Del Fuego fisting smut. Hopefully, it will pass soon before I do something very, very foolish.

Celia! How you liking LJ?

Mon, Sep. 18th, 2006 10:08 pm (UTC)

Found you through various means, one of which being Bedroom Radio and the other being ASSTR. I love your work. All of it.

I am new on livejournal, can you suggest some good erotica writing community type places?

Mon, Oct. 2nd, 2006 07:37 pm (UTC)

Ah, a lumpesse fan! So which find came first?

I have fun at writing_sex but its primary focus turns out to be slash fiction, so it's largely teen girls wanting logistical data on how male/male anal sex between elves works. *

erotillectuals has been disappointing enough that I've taken to calling it "erotilescents." Starting up a craft-of-writing-sex-fiction comm is something I've been considering attempting, but obviously I haven't been doing a whole lot of LJ stuff for the last little while. Should I take it you'd be interested if I did?

* Actually, the failure of these slash writers to realize that they have anuses that are pretty much the same as a guy's is strikingly reminiscent of a similar blind spot pertaining to nipples and male writers,

anarqueso's reference to smutty writing

Thu, Oct. 26th, 2006 11:48 am (UTC)

Here via a link from Metafandom. Interested in the discussion around the porn/erotica distinction as a working commentary going alongside some reading on fanfiction - "Fanfiction and Fan Communities in the Age of the Internet."[a good collection of papers that are not too critical/theoretical to be readable] Enjoyed your piece. Thanks for posting.

Fri, Nov. 17th, 2006 10:47 pm (UTC)

I'm realizing that I need to think and read a lot more about the fanfiction phenomenon. Can you tell me more about this book? Do you recommend any other starting places?

Writing about the porn/erotica distinction appears to be habit-forming. I keep writing 'just one more point' on the subject. Another such post is in my hopper now.

enthusemarc: how I got here?

through my referral logs - I'm the one other writer who quoted Rachel Pollack, years ago now, as you noted on October 13th.

Years before, I'd been sitting with a buddhist meditation group who customarily had one or other of the fellowship read some illuminating text or other to the group, after sitting. When I was given a turn, I read that passage. Actually, the slightely longer edit, roughly what I posted on enthusiasm.

I don't think most of them really got it.

vinnie_tesla: Re: how I got here?

Cool! I envy you having referrer logs, as this post shows.

Not every Buddhist meditation group is really concerned about the problem of conformity in sexual subcultures. Sad but true.
